King George's Park was opened in 1923 by King George V, and was originally called Southfields Park. The park is approximately 770 meters (2,530 ft.) long and 120 meters wide on average (390 ft.). It is spread over 55 acres and is divided into three almost equal halves. A leisure area is located to the north, a play area is located in the centre, and sports grounds are located to the south. The park was designed by Percy Cane, an expert English garden designer. Facilities available include, Adventure playground, Bowling green, 3 Children's play areas, Trim trails, Formal and ornamental gardens, Lake, Leisure centre, Parking, Skateboard park, Outdoor Gym, Sports pitches and Tennis Courts.
The playing field offers several activities for families to enjoy, such as TAGactive which is an indoor adventure course that is suitable for all ages! There are a variety of tasks within the arena, such as net climbs, freight tunnels, and ball pools, each of which has a number of Tags that must be tapped with a sensor on your wrist, this way you receive points. The weightage of points depend on difficulty level of that obstacle. Moreover, they offer Soft Play, a two-story play facility for toddlers and older children. It has distinct spaces for children of different age groups, so everyone can have a great time in a secure atmosphere.
Another activity is King George's Splash Pad, a state-of-the-art facility for younger children and includes water jets, fountains, sidewinders, directed jets, and cylinder spray. Also, the skate park is accessible year-round to all riders of varying skill levels and is free to use. Users with less experience or skill are asked to be considerate of other users and spectators around them on the site, and the usage of protective pads and headgear is strongly suggested. Other activities available include Adventure Play Area, Sensory Room and Crazy Golf, which is run privately under the name of Rascal Bay Adventure Golf Course.
So make sure to check out this multi-activity area for a fun day with your friends and family!
